How SorteCalc handles your data

Last updated: 17 August 2026

SorteCalc is a suite of educational gambling calculators. We do not operate a casino, take wagers, or require an account. This policy explains what we collect, what we deliberately do not collect, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

SorteCalc (“we”, “us”) publishes free calculators and editorial guides at sortecalc.com (and any successor domain). We are not a licensed gambling operator, bookmaker, or payment processor.

This policy applies to the website, calculators, blog, feedback form, and the AidaWriter ingestion endpoint used to publish articles.

2. What we collect

Data collection is intentionally narrow:

  • Technical logs: IP address, user-agent, requested URL, status code, and timestamps — used to keep the service secure and diagnose outages.
  • Aggregated analytics (production only): page views, locale, device class, and anonymous events. We do not build advertising profiles.
  • Voluntary contact: if you send a message through the Feedback form, we keep the message, the address you provide, and enough context to reply.
  • Blog content ingested via webhook: article title, slug, locale, HTML body, and optional SEO fields. That is editorial content, not your personal betting data.

3. What we do not collect

  • No user accounts, passwords, or payment details.
  • Calculator inputs (stakes, odds, bankroll figures) are processed in the browser or for the duration of a request. We do not store them against your identity.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
  • We do not run a player account, KYC, or responsible-gambling self-exclusion registry — those belong to licensed operators.

4. Cookies and similar technology

Essential cookies may be used for language preference and security. Calculators work if you block non-essential cookies.

Production analytics scripts, if enabled, load after the page is interactive. You can block them with a tracker blocker; core tools remain available.

5. Legal bases (EEA / UK / Switzerland)

Where GDPR or equivalent law applies, we rely on:

  • Legitimate interests: security logs, abuse prevention, aggregated product improvement.
  • Consent: optional analytics cookies, where required by local ePrivacy rules.
  • Contract / pre-contract steps: answering a support request you initiated via the Feedback form.
  • Legal obligation: if a competent authority lawfully requests logs we still hold.

6. Sharing

We share data only with processors needed to run the site (hosting, reverse proxy, database, optional analytics) under contractual limits. They may not use the data for their own marketing.

We disclose information if required by law, to protect the service from abuse, or in a merger where the successor is bound by this policy or a successor notice.

7. Retention

  • Security logs: typically 30–90 days unless needed for an active incident.
  • Support messages: until the request is resolved, then deleted or archived as needed for legal defence.
  • Published articles: retained while they remain on the site; webhook deletions remove the corresponding record.
  • Aggregated analytics: kept in de-identified form for product trends.

8. International transfers

Infrastructure may be located outside your country. Where GDPR applies, we use appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision) with processors.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (for example CNPD in Portugal, AEPD in Spain, Datatilsynet in Denmark, ICO in the UK).

Because we do not run accounts, we may need you to identify the address or time window of a request so we can locate logs or correspondence.

10. Children and age

The site is intended for adults. Do not use SorteCalc if you are below the legal gambling age in your jurisdiction (18 or 21 in many places). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Gambling-specific note

Entering hypothetical stakes into a calculator does not create a betting account with us. If you have a gambling problem, use national help lines and operator self-exclusion tools — not this website as a substitute.

12. Changes

We will update the “Last updated” date when this policy changes. Material changes may also be flagged on the homepage. Continued use after the update constitutes notice of the new text.

Privacy requests: use the Feedback form on this site. We aim to respond within 30 days.
