How to use Bonoloto Odds Calculator
Bonoloto on this page is SELAE's cheap daily 6/49: six numbers from 49, no separate bonus pool in the model, default Ticket Price 0.50 euros, default Jackpot 1,000,000. There are six weekly draws — Monday through Saturday — which is the whole commercial point versus La Primitiva's Thursday/Saturday rhythm and 1 euro stake. Tickets is how many independent 0.50 euro apuestas you want on one of those six evenings. Do not type a weekly total unless you mean a weekly total; the probability engine is per draw.
Tickets: one line is one 6-subset of 49. Fifty lines are fifty independent 6-subsets. Because there is no Reintegro multiplier in this calculator, jackpot probability is 1/C(49,6) = 1/13,983,816, ten times fatter than Primitiva's 6+Reintegro jackpot odds and still a long shot. The chance of at least one jackpot in n tickets is 1−(1−p)^n. At n = 20, that is about 20/13.98 million, not a rounding error you will notice in a lifetime of Monday tickets.
Ticket Price defaults to 0.50, the Bonoloto selling point. If your slip includes extra products, leave them out. Price drives EV: half a euro is easier to dismiss than Primitiva's euro, which is why people play Bonoloto more often and still lose money at a lower burn per draw and a higher burn per week if they hit all six sessions.
Jackpot defaults to 1,000,000 euros, the right order of magnitude for a game whose prize fund is a fraction of Primitiva's. Bonoloto jackpots are smaller because the stake is smaller and the draw is more frequent. Paste a real bote if you have one; do not paste a Primitiva bote by accident. The engine treats the jackpot as unshared cash. Category splits and co-winners are outside the formula.
Main Matches is the only prize-tier control. There is no Bonus Matches field because bonusPool is unused. Set 6 for the jackpot probe, 5 for five mains, 3 for the common Dreier-style class. Real Bonoloto still publishes a complementary number and a reintegro in the official table; this model ignores both so that SorteCalc can show a clean 6/49 jackpot against Primitiva's 6/49+digit. If you need Reintegro odds, use the Primitiva calculator and remember the prize fund is the wrong one.
Outputs: Jackpot Odds (1 in 13,983,816 at one ticket), This Prize Odds for your k-match, Jackpot Chance, This Prize Chance, Jackpot EV, Expected Jackpot Return. At a 1 million euro jackpot and 0.50 euro stake, jackpot × p ≈ 0.0715, EV ≈ −0.4285 euros per line. That looks "less bad" than Primitiva's −0.94 at 8 million because you staked less, not because Bonoloto is a better investment. Six draws a week times −0.43 euros is about −2.57 euros of jackpot-only expectation per week per line-a-day, before the lower rungs which still will not flip the sign.
About this calculator
Bonoloto is SELAE's high-frequency 6/49, launched on 28 February 1988 as a cheaper, more often drawn sibling of La Primitiva. The matrix is the same six from 49. The commercial contract is different: 0.50 euros, six draws a week (every day except Sunday), jackpots that typically live around a million euros rather than Primitiva-scale botes. Spaniards treat Bonoloto as the coffee-counter lottery and Primitiva as the twice-weekly "real" 6/49. Euromillones sits above both. This calculator exists so those three objects do not get one shared odds paragraph.
Because this model has no bonus pool, jackpot odds are 1 in 13,983,816. Official Bonoloto still draws a complementary ball and uses a reintegro digit in the published prize table, exactly the Spanish house style. Those extras define mid and refund classes. They are omitted here on purpose: the jackpot event the engine scores is matching six mains, and the comparison the site wants is "same C(49,6) as Primitiva, without multiplying by ten." If you quote 1 in 14 million as Bonoloto's top prize and 1 in 140 million as Primitiva's, you are describing this model's jackpot definitions, which track how SorteCalc wired bonusPool, not every footnote on a SELAE PDF.
History is short next to Primitiva's 1763 brand but long next to Eurojackpot. 1988 Spain was building a modern state-lottery portfolio: Primitiva already relaunched in 1985, El Gordo de la Primitiva would arrive in 1993, Bonoloto filled the daily slot. The point of a 0.50 euro game with six weekly draws is turnover. Frequency is a feature for SELAE and a trap for expected-loss accounting. A player who buys one Primitiva line on Thursday and Saturday spends 2 euros a week. A player who buys one Bonoloto line six days spends 3 euros a week and still never touches a Primitiva-sized bote. The calculator's Tickets field is per draw so you can see that.
Prize fund is not Primitiva's prize fund. Same combination count does not mean same payout. Bonoloto returns a different share into a different category table with a different rollover personality. EV at a 1 million euro jackpot and 0.50 euro price is a specific number (−0.43 jackpot-only with defaults) that you should not transplant onto Primitiva or El Gordo. El Gordo de la Primitiva is 5/54 plus clave, Sunday, 1.50 euros — a different polynomial.
Use Bonoloto's page when you want 6/49 without a digit tax, at the cheap stake, with a modest jackpot. Set Main Matches to 4 to see C(6,4)×C(43,2)/C(49,6). Compare that probability with Primitiva's same-k figure: the main-grid hypergeometric is identical; only the Reintegro factor and the cash table change. Sunday has no Bonoloto draw, which is when El Gordo de la Primitiva and the football pools occupy the Spanish lottery mind. Do not search "El Gordo" from this page and expect Navidad décimos; that is a third product.
Math under the hood
Bonoloto is SELAE's cheap Spanish 6/49, and the jackpot probability in this model is the reciprocal of one binomial coefficient. You mark six unordered numbers from forty-nine. The count of 6-subsets of a 49-set is C(49,6) = 49×48×47×46×45×44 / 720 = 13,983,816, so a single line hits the top prize with probability 1/C(49,6) = 1/13,983,816. There is no second factor 1/C(b,r). Official slips still mention a complementary ball and a reintegro digit for mid and refund classes; those extras are left out of the jackpot denominator on purpose. La Primitiva uses the same six-from-forty-nine grid and then multiplies the top prize by a ten-way Reintegro. Bonoloto, at fifty euro cents and six draws a week, is the sister product whose jackpot event here is simply six mains.
Calculating the coefficient by a falling product is the lecture, not a slogan. Pair 48/2 = 24 and 45/5 = 9, then 49×24 = 1,176, times 47 = 55,272, times 46/4 = 11.5 yields 635,628, times 9 = 5,720,652, times 44/6 = 13,983,816. Pascal's identity C(n,k) = C(n−1,k)+C(n−1,k−1) with C(n,0)=1 rebuilds the same table. Fermat and Pascal, in 1654, already treated finite equally likely combinations as the right language for games of chance; a modern 6/49 is that language with larger n.
Partial mains follow the hypergeometric law without replacement. Exactly k matches among six draws from forty-nine, ticket size six, has probability C(6,k)×C(43,6−k)/C(49,6). Five mains: C(6,5)×C(43,1) = 258, hence 258/13,983,816, about 1 in 54,201. Four mains: 15×903 = 13,545, about 1 in 1,032. Three mains: 20×12,341 = 246,820, about 1 in 56.66. Those fractions are shared with every other 6/49, including Polish Duży Lotek and the German main grid before Superzahl. Cash tables and digit taxes are what differ.
Independent lines are Bernoulli trials with success probability p = 1/13,983,816. The chance of at least one jackpot in n distinct combinations is 1−(1−p)^n, which for ordinary n is almost n p. One hundred lines still buy only about 7.15×10^−6. A full cover at fifty cents costs about 6.99 million euros; against a typical million-euro bote that is a way to destroy capital, not a system.
Expected jackpot value per line is J/13,983,816 minus 0.50 euros. A one-million-euro bote contributes about 7.15 cents of jackpot expectation, so about −0.4285 euros per apuesta before lower rungs. Six weekday draws multiply the hole if you subscribe daily: frequency is turnover for SELAE, not a discount on C(49,6). Sharing splits J. Tax is a personal-income question. Lower complementary and reintegro classes add omitted cents and still will not make a fifty-cent 6/49 a fair game. SELAE launched Bonoloto in 1988. Keep the jackpot at 1/C(49,6) and keep Primitiva's factor of ten out of the denominator.
