How to use SuperEnalotto Odds Calculator

SuperEnalotto in this calculator is Sisal's 6/90 jackpot with no bonus ball in the model. Default Ticket Price is 1 euro, default Jackpot 80,000,000. You choose six numbers from 1 to 90. Tickets is independent 6-subsets on one draw (draws are multiple times a week in the modern calendar; treat this as one contest). Jolly and SuperStar exist in the real product for lower prizes and extras; they do not multiply this jackpot probability. Do not fill a Bonus Matches field: there is not one. The jackpot event is six mains, C(90,6).

Tickets: one line is one 6-subset of 90. Ten lines are ten. p = 1/622,614,630, among the hardest regular jackpots on earth. 1βˆ’(1βˆ’p)^n for n=100 is still β‰ˆ 100/622.6 million. Systems that pick 8, 9, 10 numbers must be expanded with C(selected,6) before you type Tickets, and even a fat system is a rounding error against 622 million. Italian "sistemi" culture is how the February 2023 record was hit β€” a caratura of shares β€” not because systems change p per combination.

Ticket Price is 1 euro per combination. Sistemi quotes that look like 5 euros are often a share of a wheel, not a 5 euro single. If you paid 5 euros for five combinations, Tickets=5 and Price=1, or Tickets=1 and Price=5 if you insist on costing a share as one bundled object (the second choice wrecks the meaning of n in 1βˆ’(1βˆ’p)^n). Prefer Tickets=combinations, Price=1.

Jackpot defaults to 80 million euros, a mid-rollover working figure. SuperEnalotto is famous for nine-figure advertised jackpots after the 2016 cap lift. The record is about 371 million euros, won on 16 February 2023 (90-person system shares), beating the August 2019 Lodi win of about 209 million. Put 371000000 in Jackpot if you are valuing that night; put the current Sisal advertisement if you are valuing tonight. The engine does not split among 90 co-winners; real EV for a share is jackpot/90 times p_share, a different story.

Main Matches 0–6. No bonus field. k=6 is the jackpot. k=5 is five of six, still rare on a 90-ball grid. Jolly (a seventh ball from the remaining 84) and SuperStar (a separate 1–90 extra) create other prize codes in the real game. This model will not price them. If you need Jolly odds, you need a sequential extra-ball hypergeometric this page does not run.

Outputs: Jackpot Odds 1 in 622,614,630, This Prize Odds for k mains, chances, EV, Expected Jackpot Return. At 80 million and 1 euro, jackpot Γ— p β‰ˆ 0.1285, EV β‰ˆ βˆ’0.8715 euros per combination. At 371 million, jackpot Γ— p β‰ˆ 0.596, EV β‰ˆ βˆ’0.404 jackpot-only per combination before the 90-way split that actually paid the record.

About this calculator

SuperEnalotto is Italy's high-volatility national lottery, run by Sisal, six numbers from a 90-ball drum. Enalotto ancestry is older; the SuperEnalotto brand and 6/90 jackpot as a modern jackpot machine date from the late 1990s. The combinatorial headline is C(90,6) = 622,614,630. No second pool is required for the 6. That is roughly 1 in 623 million, harder than EuroMillions, harder than US Powerball, the standard example of a European game that can advertise numbers usually associated with American mega-rollovers.

Jolly and SuperStar are the extras everyone should name and then exclude from this jackpot model. Jolly is drawn from the remaining 84 balls after the six and feeds 5+Jolly type prizes. SuperStar is a separate number from 1 to 90 that can multiply or add prizes depending on the era's rules; it is not needed to hit the 6. This calculator's jackpot probability is 1/C(90,6) only. If a blog multiplies by 90 for SuperStar on the jackpot, it is describing a different event than Sisal's 6.

The 2016 cap lift is why nine-figure jackpots became a recurring Italian news object rather than a once-a-decade shock. On 13 August 2019 a ticket in Lodi won about 209 million euros, a then-record single-ticket story. On 16 February 2023 the jackpot of about 371.1 million euros (Sisal figures around 371,133,424.51) was hit after a long drought, via a system sold in shares to 90 players β€” not a lone bar ticket in the 2019 sense. That 371 million class prize is the record to cite; 2019 is the previous landmark. EuroMillions' capped 250 million is smaller than that Italian night. Hardest major jackpot, largest European payout in that episode, still a 1 euro combination.

Sisal retail, ricevitorie, and the bacheca dei sistemi are part of how Italians actually buy 6/90: not always six quick-picks, often a share of a mathematical system. Probability per combination does not care. A 5 euro share of a 90-share system that hit the 6 is a story about correlation among share-holders who bought the same six numbers, which is why 90 people won at once. Independent Tickets in this calculator assume distinct random 6-subsets. If your syndicate all hold the same line, n is 1 for the jackpot event, not 90.

Use this page to look at 6/90 without pretending Jolly is a Powerball. Set Main Matches to 3 to see that three hits on 90 balls is not the same Dreier as 6/49. Set Jackpot to 80 million or to 371 million and watch EV stay negative. SuperEnalotto is the game you play because the advertisement is obscene, not because 1/622,614,630 is a reasonable hobby.

Math under the hood

SuperEnalotto is Sisal's 6/90, and the jackpot denominator is a single binomial coefficient on ninety balls. You choose six unordered numbers from 1 to 90. C(90,6) = 90Γ—89Γ—88Γ—87Γ—86Γ—85 / 720 = 622,614,630, so p = 1/C(90,6) = 1/622,614,630. That is among the hardest regular jackpots in common retail, harder than EuroMillions and harder than US Powerball. Jolly, a seventh ball from the remaining eighty-four, and SuperStar, a separate 1–90 extra, feed lower prizes and multipliers. They do not multiply this jackpot probability. A blog that folds SuperStar's ninety into the top-prize denominator is describing a different event than matching six mains.

Falling-product arithmetic is worth doing once so 622 million is not a rumour. Ninety times eighty-nine is 8,010; times eighty-eight is 704,880; times eighty-seven is 61,324,560; times eighty-six is 5,273,912,160; times eighty-five is 448,282,533,600; divide by 720. The result is 622,614,630. Pascal's recurrence still holds; the triangle is merely huge. Enalotto ancestry is older; the modern SuperEnalotto jackpot machine is this 6/90 identity.

Hypergeometric k on six draws from ninety with a six-spot ticket is C(6,k)Γ—C(84,6βˆ’k)/C(90,6). Five mains: 6Γ—84 = 504, about 1 in 1,235,347. Four mains: 15Γ—3,486 = 52,290, about 1 in 11,907. Three mains: 20Γ—95,204 = 1,904,080, about 1 in 327. Compare three mains on 6/49, about 1 in 56.7: the ninety-ball drum makes even a dreier lean. Jolly would split some of those classes further; that sequential extra ball is outside this jackpot model.

Independent combinations give 1βˆ’(1βˆ’p)^n. One hundred lines remain about 100/622.6 million. Buying every combination once costs 622.6 million euros and yields only about 1βˆ’1/e β‰ˆ 63.2 percent chance of at least one jackpot, the usual coupon-collector neighbour. Italian sistemi and carature do not change p per combination. A ninety-share system that hits the six is n = 1 for that combination, with ninety people splitting the prize.

Expected jackpot value is nΓ—(J/622,614,630 βˆ’ 1) at one euro per combination. Eighty million over 622.6 million is about 12.85 cents, so about βˆ’0.8715 euros per line. The February 2023 record near 371 million euros gives 371,133,425/622,614,630 βˆ’ 1 β‰ˆ βˆ’0.404 jackpot-only per combination before Italian win tax and before a ninety-way split. Sharing a record does not create positive expectation; it shrinks the prize per person. The 2016 cap lift changed the J you type, not C(90,6). Keep six, ninety, and Jolly out of the jackpot product.
